With deepest sympathy, Castlewood Fire & Rescue shares the passing of Wanda Carter, beloved wife of our Board of Directors President, Earl Carter.
For more than ten years, Wanda faced cancer with remarkable courage, strength, and determination. While many diagnosed with the same illness are given a much shorter prognosis, Wanda continued her fight with grace through countless rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. Throughout it all, she remained a steadfast supporter of Fire & EMS while making the most of every moment with her family.
Wanda's impact reached far beyond her family. Many remember her as a dedicated educator at Saint Paul High School, where she inspired and encouraged countless students. Others remember her at the town pool, where she touched the lives of many in the community. Many also knew her through her work with H&R Block, where she became a trusted tax professional, helping clients navigate tax season with knowledge, patience, and genuine care.
Wanda's strength, determination, and unwavering spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
On behalf of everyone at Castlewood Fire & Rescue, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Earl, their family, and all who loved Wanda. We ask our members and community to keep the Carter family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Rest in peace, Wanda. Your legacy of resilience, determination, and service to others will never be forgotten.
